Using upcycled ocean plastic to bring you fresh herbs.

Every year over 5 million tonnes of plastic waste end up in the environment and ocean. Around 11% of this waste comes from the maritime industry, mainly being fishing nets, trawls, ropes and boxes. We believe that these statistics need to change and we want to take part in changing them.

Therefore we are using retired fishing nets to make our indoor garden Kurt. Our green water tanks are made from old fishing nets that have been cleaned and recycled. Instead of letting the fishing nets end up as ocean waste, our partner the Danish company PLASTIX recycles it and we give it a new life with our indoor kitchen garden Kurt.

Reduce plastic waste and food waste.

With every Kurt, around 3kg of plastic is prevented from becoming ocean waste. But Kurt also opens up for the opportunity to reduce food waste and instead grow herbs at home all year round.
